• Download the attached spreadsheet and open it up.
  • Weigh your gear on a kitchen scale in OUNCES. Use a bowl and zero out on the scale if necessary. For an empty pack, stand on a bathroom scale and subtract your weight if necessary. Use verified weights rather than manufacturer specifications when possible, it does vary.
  • Enter identifying information of what you are taking for each item in the ‘Description’ column.
  • Enter the weight of the item in the ‘Weight in Oz’ column
  • For Tents, you will be carrying only half (tent and stakes or fly and poles).
  • For Crew Gear, you will only be assigned some of it. Add/remove weight from column after our first shakedown.
  • Total weight will be in pounds at the bottom of the ‘Weight in Oz’ column.
